MICROSITE | 2009
Kids’ innate love of books is given an outlet through the Whitcoulls Kids Top 50 list. Working with agency DraftFCB, I created The Wonderful Land of Stories – a metaphor for the fantabulous places made possible by a good read. Providing kids with a fun online environment to vote for their favourite books.
I brought the creative vision to life by crafting a storybook-themed online world, through the use of detailed illustrations, photographic parallaxing techniques and quirky animated effects.
Over 12,600 votes were captured during a 2 week voting period. Following which, the annual Top 50 favourite kids books was compiled.
The site won a 2009 NZDM award for Best Art Direction and a 2010 Bronze Axis award in the ‘Craft’ category.
