MOBILE APP | 2017 - 2018
The My Southern Cross app was developed to support and compliment the re-designed web platform. Smaller in scope and with less features than the web experience, the app primarily caters for fast ‘on-the-go’ claiming of medical expenses. I designed a simple and intuitive claiming experience, allowing users to take photos of receipts and immediately submit claims. The app also doubles as a virtual ‘member card’, so members can identify themselves with affiliated partners to redeem special discounts and offers.
I led the UX design phase before handing over responsibility to a partner agency who produced and delivered the app. This freed up more of my time to focus on the web experience design.
I provided oversight and art direction during the app development, to ensure the visual style and execution aligned with the web platform.
Since the app was first launched it has been downloaded 125,000 times and supports on average 18,000 claims per month. This makes up 41% of all monthly claims across; App, Web and Paper.
Recently I’ve been tasked with re-imagining the IA and navigation to support the addition of partner insurance offerings (Travel and Pet).
